This County Has Been Named the Best Place to Live in South Carolina for the Least Amount of Money

The cost of life in the United States varies a lot from place to place, but prices are going up for housing, food, transportation, health care, and other necessities in every part of the country.

The online business magazine 24/7 Wall St. used the Family Budget Calculator from the Economic Policy Institute to find the least expensive place to live in each state. They came to these conclusions by figuring out how much it would cost a single adult each month to live in a simple but comfortable way.

So where in South Carolina can you live for the least amount of money? 24/7 Wall St. says that that is Chesterfield County.

Chesterfield County is in the northeast corner of South Carolina, right next to the border with North Carolina. Its county seat is Chesterfield, and Cheraw is its biggest town. The county is part of the Greater Charlotte Area.

As of the census in 2020, there were 43,273 people living there.

It is believed that the average cost of living in Chesterfield County is $2,788 per month, with housing costs making up only 16% of that amount. This is much cheaper than the national average cost of living per month, which can be as high as $3,500.

The average income for a household here is $4003. This means that most people make much more than they need to live properly.

This is what makes this county a more reasonable choice than other places in South Carolina.
