Marion County Shootings: Georgia Man in Custody for Double Homicide

MARION COUNTY, S.C. — A man from Georgia has been taken into custody in relation to three shootings that occurred in Marion County, including a double-homicide, as confirmed by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

Zacarie Isayah Johnson, aged 24, was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force in Georgia on October 10th. He faces charges that include two counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, one count of carjacking, two counts of kidnapping, one count of armed robbery, and one count of possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Marion County Sheriff Brian Wallace had previously stated that two separate shootings, including the double-homicide attributed to Johnson, were linked to one another.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office expressed its gratitude to the State Law Enforcement Division, the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force, as well as the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms for their assistance in this case, according to a news release.
