A Lengthy and Blissful Union
Sheri Maund, formerly Sheri Blaschke, exchanged vows with Erik Maund on February 20, 1999, amidst a grand ceremony attended by their loved ones. Sheri’s sister, Stephanie Blaschke, served as the maid of honor, while her father, Sylvan Blaschke, proudly escorted her down the aisle. The couple was blessed with a son, Doug Maund, born in 2000.
Their marriage appeared to be one filled with joy and success, marked by shared interests in travel, golfing, and cherishing moments with their son.
They supported each other’s endeavors, with Sheri pursuing a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and establishing herself as a personal trainer and fitness entrepreneur, while Erik ascended to become a partner in the Maund Automotive Group, a family enterprise founded by his grandfather, the esteemed Charles Maund, a prominent figure in the Austin community.

An Alarming Betrayal
Sheri’s world was shattered in December 2021, when Erik’s arrest and subsequent charges for conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, kidnapping resulting in death, and use of interstate commerce facilities in the commission of murder-for-hire came to light.
The federal indictment alleged that Erik, under the alias “Erik Moore,” engaged in an affair with Holly Williams, a Nashville-based escort and aesthetician he met online in early 2020. Erik’s obsession with Holly led him to fear exposure of their liaison to his family.
To eliminate this threat, Erik enlisted Jason Brockway and Steven Carey, paying them $10,000 each and furnishing them with firearms, ammunition, and a rental car. On March 12, 2020, Brockway and Carey abducted Holly and William from her apartment, transporting them to a remote site where they were fatally shot.
The murders remained unresolved until a confidential informant tipped off the FBI about Erik’s involvement. Subsequently, Brockway and Carey confessed, implicating Erik as the mastermind. Additional evidence retrieved from Erik’s electronic devices and financial records substantiated his communication and transactions with Holly, Brockway, and Carey.
A Heartrending Divorce
Overwhelmed and stunned by Erik’s infidelity and crimes, Sheri initiated divorce proceedings in May 2020, citing adultery and insupportability as grounds. However, the divorce petition was dismissed due to Erik’s pending criminal trial.
Additionally, Sheri sought a protective order against Erik, alleging threats directed towards her and their son, given Erik’s access to firearms and explosives. Sheri refrained from attending Erik’s trial held in November 2023 in Nashville.
