In 2017, she publicly disclosed her decision to pursue a divorce from her husband of nearly three decades, Art Terkeurst, citing his repeated infidelity and substance abuse. She candidly shared her heartbreak and struggles with her followers, requesting prayers and support.

In an unexpected turn, Lysa and Art chose to reconcile in 2018 after Art acknowledged his transgressions and sought help for his addiction. They renewed their vows privately, and Lysa penned a book about her journey titled “Forgiving What You Can’t Forget.”
The book delves into her experiences of forgiveness and restoration, highlighting God’s faithfulness and grace in healing their wounds and renewing their relationship. Regrettably, their reconciliation was short-lived.
In 2020, Lysa filed for divorce once again, revealing that Art had violated their renewed vows by continuing an affair with another woman. Art had spent a significant sum on his mistress, whom he met on SugarDaddy.com. Despite Lysa’s efforts to salvage their marriage, the constant deception and betrayal led her to the difficult decision of letting him go.
A New Chapter in Her Life
Amidst pain and loss, Lysa retained her hope and faith in God. She continued her service to Him, finding solace and joy in her children and grandchildren. Lysa attested that God had been her refuge, providing the strength and peace needed to move forward.
In January 2023, God introduced a new love into Lysa’s life – Chaz, a man who shared her faith and values. They fell in love, became engaged in the fall of 2023, and chose to keep their relationship private. Lysa expressed her desire to protect their connection and extend respect to her ex-husband and his family.
Last week, Lysa and Chaz exchanged vows in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by family, set against a breathtaking mountain backdrop. Lysa shared the joyous occasion on her social media, expressing gratitude for God’s faithfulness and goodness. She invited her followers to celebrate with her and to pray for their marriage.
