Ralls County Health Department Announces 35 New Cases
The Ralls County Health Department is seeing Covid-19 cases climb at an alarming rate. Since our last update on August 19, 2020, we have had 35 new cases bringing our total to 106 as of Monday morning. As there were three large gatherings in our county over the weekend, we can anticipate our cases to continue to climb as people are not social distancing or wearing face coverings.
If we want to slow the spread, it is very important that we continue to social distance, cover coughs, stay home when sick and wear a face covering when the 6-foot distance cannot be maintained. Our children are going to be starting school this week and it's important that they can continue with in person learning for many different reasons. Our job is to make sure that they can do that safely with the community's help. So please, think of others when you are out and know that your actions not only affect you, but those you love.
As our agency does contact tracing, it's important that you be honest and give the agency the people that you have been around so that they can quarantine and help to slow the spread. Those in quarantine should watch for signs and symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. If you have any symptoms, contact your primary health care provider and tell them you are a close contact to a Covid positive person.
If you have any questions, call us at 573-985-7121 or the state hotline at 877-435-8411.
