Winds of Faith
Pure & Undefiled Religion
As we come to a new season, things will be different. We may have to practice different
ways of doing things on account of circumstances. The church has prevailed, as pastors preach from
front steps to parking lots of members where horns honk instead of amens shouted. Some have adapted
to virtual sermons on the phone or computer. Our Lord always makes a way for his church to prevail and his word provides for all time and circumstances. James’ words in 1727 speak of times when we can’t always do things like we want to. He writes, “Pure and undefiled religion before God and the father is this; to visit widows and orphans in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.” Note orphans have no father (the lost), widows once had but now they don't.
(good thoughts) The church has taken up the challenge of this time and has adapted and overcome as directed us in the 7 letters John wrote in Revelation which all end in “To him who overcomes.” Thanks Lord.
